Hey folks, sorry for the downloading problems - it appears to be a problem with the host, so I'll be moving the site to a new host today - wish me luck. I'll post again when things should be working...

Here's a fun new feature - Instant Message me... on the right column of the front page, you'll see a section that will allow you to send me a message (assuming I'm signed in).
Feel free to give it a shot if you have any questions about the site, the textures, etc... I work full time during the day, but I'll do my best to answer any questions that I can.
So I've got a basic tutorial up. Here's what I'm planning to do in the future.
Photoshop tutorial that steps through how to create a proper 32bit tga
Similar tutorial for Paintshop Pro
Advanced placement and aligning of textures with DART
Using textures with the other Discord addons
Replacing game textures by using DFM and other methods
Texture scripting (I don't know much about this one)
Are there any other specifics that I should hit on? Maybe some tutorials on basic stuff in photoshop as it relates to game textures?
I'm also thinking that I'll keep tutorials as topical as possible. In other words, instead of an end to end tutorial (starting with nothing but an idea and ending in the game), I'll stick to creating lots of small tutorials that are very specific. For example, I would create one called "How to align textures to your screen" instead of one called "Creating your own completely custom interface from scratch."
Ok, I'm not sure if that last paragraph made sense - if not, then just answer the first question... lol... what kind of tutorials (and any other content) do you guys want to see?

It took me long enough, but I finally got around to posting the first tutorial. It's a very basic tutorial, so if your looking for some advanced help, you won't find it in this one. I do plan to write some more advanced tutorials in the future though.
Remember, if you want, you can submit your own tutorials. I'll even clean them up for you, edit them, post the screenshots, etc.
Hey folks, I've posted a very temporary tutorial in the forums. Ignore the numbers in parenthesis... those are my notes for the screenshots I took. Tomorrow (or later tonight) I'll clean it up, make it pretty, and add the screenshots. In the meantime, this will get you started if you try hard enough. :)

Hey folks, the access problem to the member albums has been fixed. The default was to only allow the owner access, so I changed that. It was an oversight on my part... whoops. Anyhow, it's all better now.
Hey folks, sorry about the download problem. What good are the textures if you can't download them, right? Heheh... That was my bad - I knew that bug was there, but completely forgot to fix it before I launched the site yesterday.
Anyhow, I've uploaded the new version of MediaGallery that should fix the problem. I'm able to download files now, so give it a shot and let me know your results.
Well folks, here is what I kept promising. I've had to make quite a few changes to get here to this point, but most of those changes are good. So without further fanfare, lets get right into it.
Registration
First thing to note is that everyone will need to re-register. I apologize for that, and more info about why is below. However, if you are just here to download an image, you do not need to register. You only need to register if you want to comment, post in the forums, upload, etc.
Textures
You're all here for the Textures. Check the link on the left. I think you'll find that the site runs quite a bit faster. Still not as fast as I'd like, but I can't afford a host that can keep up.
User Albums for existing users
I have all the same categories as before, so the structure will be the same. I tried and tried and tried to get users to convert over from the old Gallery to this system, but it just wasn't working out. So, I've copied only those users who had uploaded images. This part is very important: if you are one of the users who's gallery I copied over, you already have an account created. Your account name is the same as the album name. So if the Album name looks like "SeanW Album" then the username is SeanW. To get your password, just go to the login area, choose the link to recover your lost password and enter the correct info in. I don't expect this will work out for everyone, so just shoot me a message and we'll get it worked out.
User Albums for new users
New users - well all users are new... so, everyone - you all have the opportunity to create your own personal gallery/album. You will have full control over the album. You can create as many sub albums as you want and add/remove pictures to them. If you want to showcase your work, this is the best way to go. If you just want to upload an image or two, and don't care about getting credit for it, read on.
Image Submissions
You'll find that you can now upload images into the pre-existing categories. If you don't want the functionality of your own album, go ahead and upload into the area that best suits the image. However, in order to keep spam down, each of the pre-existing categories requires that I approve your upload (i.e. moderated).
Tutorials
Well, there's not one posted yet. But I'll be putting one together this weekend - but you can submit all you want! That's right, either use the appropriate forum (see below) or use the submission link on the left. Send me anything and everything you want. I hope to have tutorials to cover all aspects of texture working. Whether its pulling a texture out of game, or using Photoshop/Paintshop Pro to edit them - send them to me!
Forums/Community
Finally - a place to talk! Forums speak for themselves, so I won't say much about them here. Please be nice to each other. I don't have the time or patience to spend hours moderating.
Other stuff
For those curious, I'm using the Geeklog CMS system with MediaGallery and a phpBB bridge. I tried probably 15 different solutions and nothing worked out as well as this configuration. BIG, BIG, BIG props to Mark over at MediaGallery.org for being so responsive and willing to add new code. Without his work, I'd still be using the old G2 system.
Lastly, look for most of this information to end up in a FAQ of some sort.
I think that just about covers it... this is, of course, all new so there will be bugs I'm sure. I'll do my best to stay on top of them, but since I'm newly engaged, I have a whole lot of stuff going on.
